Sponsorship from the Chaos Practitioners Association was a major source of start up funds for this small league. As such the inaugural tournament in the Nut Bowl League is the highly prized Chaos Cup.

League system:
- Round-robin, play everyone once, 1v4 2v3 semis, 5-6 wooden spoon game
- 4 pts for a win, 2 pts for a draw, 1 bpt (bonus point) for loss by 1TD, 1bpt for 3 or more Cas in a game, 1bpt for 3 or more TD in a game.
- Ties are resolved by goal-difference, or if goal-difference is tied Team Ratings.
- No wizards inducement
- MVP only randomised among on not-killed non-induced players.
- +1SPP bonus on all players that take to the pitch
- If player only scoreed a bonus SPP during a game in which he/she gains an improvement, the following random skill rule apply.
- Random skill rule: If a player gains a skill, the coach may choose from the normal categories, which skill category the skill comes from. The skill is then randomly determined from that list. If a stat increase is rolled, the coach may choose a skill as normal in lieu of the stat increase. If a double is rolled, the coach may choose a skill as normal from the normal skill categories or to gain a random skill from the categories in the doubles column. If a double 5 or double 6 is rolled, the coach may choose the appropriate stat increase or any skills from the normal or doubles column.
- +10K for losers and +20K for ties and winners
- Bloodweiser House-rule: When called for an illegal procedure, a player may in lieu of giving his opponent a re-roll down a can of beer before his opponent completes his next down (BYO)
